Shared Ownership opens door to dream home for growing family at Charlton Gate

A family of four has seen their lives transformed after moving into a new home at Charlton Gate with Shared Ownership from Alliance Homes.

Jess Crowley and Curtis Davenport, along with their three-year-old son Parker and baby daughter Lyla, recently settled into their spacious three-bedroom house in Brentry, South Gloucestershire where they are enjoying more room and a large garden.

Previously, Jess and Curtis were renting a small two-bedroom home. While the space was manageable when they only had Parker, the arrival of Lyla meant they urgently needed more room. “When we found out Lyla was on the way, we knew we needed a bigger place,” explains Curtis.

The couple began searching for a new home but quickly realised that they couldn’t afford to buy a property large enough in their preferred area. That’s when they turned to Shared Ownership with Alliance Homes, which offered an affordable path to their dream home.

“We wanted to move quickly, so we got organised to be ready as soon as an opportunity came up,” says Jess. “This house became available when the original buyer dropped out, and soon as we saw it, we knew it was the one. Everything was lined up for us to move, and the house has been absolutely perfect – nothing needed to be done.”

The family has since settled into their new home and is enjoying the extra space and comfort.

“Life is much better now, and we’re happier,” adds Jess. “There’s so much room, which makes everything less stressful. It’s a relaxing place to be, and it really feels like home – even with the kids’ mess!”

Curtis says: “I was surprised at how big the garden is! We love how the sun shines over the back. Parker enjoys playing outside, and because the windows at the back of the house stretch all the way across, we can easily keep an eye on him and know he’s safe – something we couldn’t do in our old home.”

In addition to the extra space, the couple also appreciate living on a quiet road, and how easy it is to get to nursery and school. Cribbs Causeway is only a short walk or cycle away, and with many new amenities being developed in the area, Charlton Gate is a vibrant and connected community.
