The Board regularly meet with the Customer Feedback Panel which plays an important role in shaping service delivery.
Andy has extensive experience in non-executive roles for organisations in the housing, health, education and third sectors. With his background as a corporate lawyer, he specialises in corporate governance and leadership development.
Andy is passionate about housing providers and care services working together for the benefit for the communities. He chairs a community and mental health NHS foundation trust and prior to joining Alliance was chair of United Communities. He joined the Board of Alliance in September 2019 and sits on the People & Culture Committee.
Louise has worked within social housing for over 20 years and she has extensive experience of contributing to strategic partnerships and of delivering major change and modernisation projects. Louise is also a member of the Alliance Board and the Asset Committee. In 2023 Louise became chair of Homes for the South West.
She is passionate about social justice and delivering services and homes that customers rate as excellent. Prior to joining Alliance Homes Group Louise was Executive Director Customer Services at Curo Group. Louise has also worked as Operations Director at Gloucester Housing Association and in a variety of roles for Somer Community Housing Trust, Guinness Trust and Knightstone Housing. She has also held a number of Non-Executive Director roles.
Richard joined the Board in 2018. He is the Chair of the Audit and Risk Committee, member of the Asset Committee and is the Member Responsible for Complaints.
He brings a broad range of other skills including significant strength in treasury and property. Prior to his retirement in 2009, Richard was an Audit Partner at KPMG and remains a Fellow of Society of Chartered Accountants England and Wales.
He comes to Alliance as an experienced Board Member and Audit & Risk Committee Chair, most recently at North Bristol NHS Trust, where he chairs the Finance and Performance committee and is a member and former chair of the Audit & Risk committee.
Carol joined the Board in 2020 to support organisational development and our design and transformation agenda. She is our Senior Independent Director and Chair of the People and Culture Committee.
She is an experienced non-executive director and chair and sits on the board of Southern Housing and is also Chair of their People Committee. She is the Chair and Vice Chair of the Nominations Committee for UN Women UK.
Carol has over 25 years of talent management and workforce development experience with broad commercial and financial acumen.
Carol was awarded an OBE in the Queen's 2015 Birthday Honours List for services to Women in Business.
Paul joined the Board in 2020 and is Chair of the Asset Committee. He is also a member of the Audit and Risk Committee.
He has over 35 years’ experience in engineering, construction and built assets, he has 10 years’ experience as a non-executive director within the built environment including two non-executive chair roles. In addition to his non-executive roles, he is also a trustee of three charities and an Officer in the Army Reserves.
Paul has held roles including chief executive officer and chief operating officer and has previously led multi-disciplinary teams across EMEA delivering large and complex built asset development programmes.
He has experience in initiating, leading or governing joint ventures and strategic alliances, and brings a deep understanding of enabling technology and built asset performance issues, such as passive design, whole life costs and energy management.

Amanda joined the Board in 2022 and sits on the Audit and Risk Committee and the Asset Committee.
She is a professional trustee and business lawyer with almost 30 years of experience in both commercial and not for profit/charitable organisations in a variety of sectors including property development. She is currently Chair of Trustees for Thames Water Pension Fund and Thames Water Mirror Image Pension Fund, as well as a trustee for Victim Support, board advisor for a rum distillery at a climate change communications and marketing agency. Amanda also continues to work as a lawyer and a pensions trustee.
As a qualified executive coach and with her experience across several sectors, Amanda feels strongly that good governance and compliance sits alongside empathy and heart in delivering the right services to customers. She is of the view that a safe and comfortable home is a fundamental right and a strong basis for enabling people to fulfil their potential. She brings a range of experiences and skills that focus on supporting organisations to be effective and to deliver successful customer experiences of the services they provide.
Ciaran joined the Board in 2022 and sits on the People & Culture Committee. He is a local councillor and in 2023 was appointed Mayor of Weston-super-Mare.
He has over 10 years’ experience delivering services to communities and currently works as the Head of Funded Services for Citizens Advice where he’s responsible for leading programmes of multi-national services supporting 100,000s of people a year.
Ciaran is passionate about the positive impact that housing can have on communities and how this can play an important role in tackling inequalities. He brings a range of experiences and skills that focus on delivering community centric services, implementing change and bringing the voice of communities into decision making.
Joy joined the Board as a Co-optee in December 2023 and was appointed as a full member in 2024. Joy sits on the Audit & Risk Committee and Asset Committee.
With a background in accountancy, Joy has extensive experience supporting a wide range of banking and not-for-profit organisations and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales. Joy was previously Chief Executive Officer of Integrity Action, a UK-based INGO which builds integrity and resilience in some of the world's most challenging environments. She won the Institute of Directors' Director of the Year award in the South East (2013) for this role.
