At Alliance Homes, we’re proud of the diversity in our workplace and the communities we support. We believe everyone should feel respected, included, and treated fairly - whether you're a customer, colleague, partner, or volunteer.
We know that when we value each person’s unique background and experiences, we build stronger communities and provide better services. That’s why we’re committed to being an anti-racist, anti-discrimination organisation.

What Equality, Diversion and Inclusion means to us
We want Alliance Homes to be a place where:
- Everyone feels welcome and respected
- People are treated fairly and have equal opportunities
- Services are tailored to meet individual needs
- Discrimination and inequality are actively challenged
Our ED&I approach applies to everyone we work with - customers, colleagues, board members, contractors, and partners.
Our vision
Our aim is to go beyond compliance. We want to lead by example, learn from others, and always act in line with our values. Respect, fairness, and opportunity for all are at the heart of everything we do.
Our commitments
We’re working to:
- Create a respectful and inclusive culture
- Regularly review our policies and practices to promote fairness
- Make reasonable adjustments to meet individual needs
- Use the R.A.C.E Equality Code to guide our actions and measure progress
- Educate and raise awareness to break down barriers to inclusion
How we're making it happen
We’re taking action by:
- Recruiting and supporting a diverse team that reflects our communities
- Improving how we collect and use data to ensure fairness
- Listening to customers and colleagues through our Scrutiny Panel and ED&I Champions
- Providing training and resources to build understanding
- Being transparent about our progress and sharing regular updates
Our ED&I Champions and customer voices
Our ED&I Champions - colleagues from across the organisation - help shape our approach and have a direct voice to our Board. Customers also play a key role through our Scrutiny Panel and HIVE, our online community.
Life Through Your Lens
This project helped us learn more about our customers’ experiences and needs. It’s now part of our everyday work, helping us provide fair and inclusive services. We also introduced our Reasonable Adjustments Policy, which ensures everyone can access our services in a way that works for them - whether that’s translation support, accessible formats, or different ways of communicating.
We measure and report on our progress through:
- Diversity indicators across the organisation
- Biannual updates to our Board
- Annual Gender Pay Gap reports and biennial Equality Pay Gap reports
- Annual colleague surveys
- Our Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) report
Disability and employment at Alliance Homes
We’re proud to be recognised as a Disability Confident Leader.
This means we’re committed to being inclusive and supportive of disabled people in the workplace.
If you have a disability and meet the essential requirements for a job with us, we guarantee you’ll be offered an interview.

RACE Code accredited
We've been awarded the prestigious RACE Equality Code Quality Mark in recognition of our strong commitment to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion.
RACE stands for Reporting, Action, Composition and Education. It’s based on current laws and best practices, and helps organisations like ours make real progress in creating fair and inclusive workplaces.
To earn this mark, we went through a detailed assessment that looked at how inclusive we are now and how we plan to keep improving - both for our colleagues and the communities we support.
Our Alliance for All approach is supported by our ‘Being You’ colleague action plan which sets out how we'll meet our Equality, Diversity and Inclusion goals.
