The Government has confirmed that they will be giving every person responsible for paying for their gas and electricity bills £400 to help with the increased cost of the fuel supplies. This payment will be applied to your electricity account in six instalments from October 2022 to March 2023, £67 per month. It will be sent direct to your supplier to administer.
There is also going to be payments towards your electricity if you live in a facility where you are charged for supply via your service charges, rather than billed direct by the suppliers. More information about this support will be available soon.
In September to October 2022 people in receipt of disability benefits on 25 May 2022 will receive £150 paid direct to the same account you receive your regular benefit payments.
In October people in receipt of Universal Credit, Income-related Employment and Support allowance and other means tested benefits will receive £324. If you receive new-style or contribution-based benefits you will not be eligible to receive this payment.
If you received tax credits between 26 April 2022 to 25 May 2022 you should receive a payment of £326 between 2 to 7 September and a second payment of £324 in Winter 2022 (dates to be announced)
