Hundreds more Alliance Homes customers are set to benefit from energy efficiency upgrades to their homes following a successful bid for government funding.
The West of England housing association has secured a provisional allocation of £2.9 million from the government’s Warm Homes: Social Housing Fund. This adds to the £4.4 million Alliance Homes has already committed to investing through its Warmer Greener Living programme – a key part of the organisation’s drive to provide warm, sustainable homes that are more efficient to run.

The funding will support a major programme of energy efficiency upgrades to 335 homes across North Somerset over the next three years. Planned improvements include the installation of solar panels and a variety of insulation measures, helping customers reduce their energy use and lower their carbon footprint and bills.
This latest news means that Alliance is moving closer to delivering on one of the core ambitions set out in its recently published sustainability strategy, for 100% of its homes to reach an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) rating of C or above by 2030.

Alliance Homes’ Sustainability Manager, Aisha Stewart, said: “We’re proud to be building on the success of our Warmer, Greener Living scheme, which has delivered improvements to more than 160 homes. This new investment commitment from Alliance Homes, topped by the government funding, means hundreds more customers will benefit from homes that are warmer, more energy-efficient and more affordable to heat.
“We’ve already identified the homes set to receive upgrades in the next phase and we’ll be contacting the first group of customers soon.”
