Local housing association Alliance Homes has brought festive cheer to people across North Somerset this holiday season by delivering more than 200 surprise Christmas hampers to their doorstep.
The hampers, which included a box of chocolates, a Christmas card, and a £25 shopping voucher, were gifted to local residents nominated by Alliance Homes colleagues and community partners as a way to spread warmth and joy.
Alliance Homes’ Chief Operating Officer, Iain Lock, who helped deliver the hampers, said: “Christmas is not always an easy time for everyone, and small acts of kindness can make a big difference. These hampers are a way to show people they’re thought of and supported.I’m grateful to everyone who helps make this possible every year – it's a true team effort that means so much to those who receive them.”
Community Growth Manager at Alliance Homes, Helen Wheelock, added: “Thanks to the generosity of our community partners and the hard work of everyone at Alliance Homes, we were able to recognise and help those most in need of a little extra joy this Christmas.”
The project was made possible with support from 13 local organisations within Alliance Homes’ supply chain and partner network, who contributed over £6,000 to help fund the project. These are: For All Healthy Living Centre, MD Group, Britannia Windows, Landscape Services, Teign Trees, Fairways, LCB, Ashcroft, D R Jones, A1 Home Inspectors, NBC Environment, Quartet, Voluntary Action North Somerset and Weston Lions.
